Junior Quant
About Spectral::Technologies
At Spectral::Technologies, we do HFT — building infrastructure and strategies for trading across global markets. With over 6 years in the industry, we successfully compete with the largest firms and continuously grow our PnL, reinvesting it not only into our team and growth but also into philanthropy — supporting universities, developing courses, and funding educational initiatives.
About the role
In the Junior Quant role, you will have an immediate and direct impact on PnL. We won’t box you into a narrow title (researcher? developer? trader?). Instead, you’ll work across the full quant lifecycle — from generating hypotheses and building trading strategies to running them live in production — and find where your skills contribute most to PnL.
Prerequisites
- You’ve achieved top results in math, programming, or physics competitions: International Olympiads, ICPC NEF+, All-Russian Olympiad / 2300+ Codeforces / Master+ on Kaggle, or have successful experience competing at this level (e.g. top of a strong technical university)
- You have a solid understanding of applied probability and mathematical statistics
- You know basic algorithms and data structures
- You have experience writing code in Python and C++, and are comfortable working in a Linux-based terminal
- You continuously set higher standards for yourself and seek out more challenging competitions
- Completion of YSDA and experience (work, internships, or practical projects) in ML, C++, or HFT are a plus but not required
Why us
- An experienced team (6+ years in HFT, team lead is an IMO gold medalist)
- Compensation tied to contribution: $150–180k USD + profit sharing
- Fast feedback and all the resources you need to grow
- A wide range of benefits: from standard ones like health insurance (including dental), team events, and great food to more unique perks like study leave, performance coaching, and company offsites around the world
